Three years ago, my family and I took a leap of faith

Three years ago, my family and I took a leap of faith, relocating to Northwest Arkansas, a place completely unknown to us. What began in 2016 as a dream to move to Bozeman, MT, evolved into an unexpected journey to Bentonville, AR, and it’s been nothing short of life-changing. Embracing the unknown wasn’t easy. We’ve faced risks before, but this move was a bold step into uncharted territory, filled with both challenges and incredible rewards."

Life’s ups and downs teach us that growth lies beyond our comfort zones. Taking risks, embracing the possibility of failure, and keeping momentum forward have led us to remarkable people, opportunities, and a renewed perspective. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to engage with two inspiring organizations, Central States and Simmons Foods, whose cultures have shown me what’s possible when you dare to take that leap.

As Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Here’s to embracing the risks, learning from the failures, and always moving forward.

I’m wrecked. My dear uncle passed Saturday. He shook my hand when I graduated boot camp and said, “Semper Fi, Marine.” I didn’t know he was a Vietnam vet or Marine. Labor Day 2005, I returned from basic training and MOS school. I knew exactly where I wanted to be @ Lake Chelan, WA with fam @ his place. As usual, he bought 12+ tickets to a Kingston Trio concert to hand out to anybody. He insisted I go. I’m glad I did.
